The 4th year of Prague International Chess Festival will be held on 7th – 17th June 2022, in the four-star Prague Hotel Don Giovanni as usual. Participants can compete in the Masters Tournament, Challenger Tournament, Futures Tournament, Open Tournament, and rating tournaments.
Because of constantly changing covid safety measures, which usually tighten up in the autumn and winter, the organizers chose June even for the 4th year. «Considering our last year’ experience we assume that the June date is going to be more favourable for the festival. Our just-published festival program reflects that and it’s going to be packed with interesting events and gatherings,“ says Petr Boleslav, the tournament director. The standard structure of the tournaments is going to have its usual form, compared to the last year it means the return of ten participants of the Challengers tournament to the main stage. Side events are coming back too, the proven Film Chess Festival or the Children’s Day are going to be accompanied by some other interesting events, about which you’re going to be informed soon.
The registration in the Open tournament and rating tournaments has been opened, the participants can now register via an online form. More details can be read in the Festival regulations.
