Koneru Humpy is one of the 4 players in Pool A of the 2022-23 Women’s Candidates.
She qualified thanks to her 2nd place overall in the 2019-2021 FIDE Women’s Grand Prix series.
Koneru will face Anna Muzychuk in the quarterfinals, with the winner meeting either Lei Tingjie or Mariya Muzychuk in the semifinal.
Pool A will be held in Monaco from October 24 to November 6. The prize fund for each pool is 70,000€, while another 110,000€ will be at stake in the Women’s Candidates Final, raising the total to a record-breaking 250,000€.
