TOURNAMENT REGULATIONS
1. Organizer, date and place of the game
From July 16 to 24, 2023, the Chess Federation of Serbia is organizing an INTERNATIONAL
SUMMER CHESS FESTIVAL called «SERBIA OPEN 2023».
The tournament will be held at the «Metropol Palace» hotel (Bulevar Kralja Aleksandra 69).
2. Tournaments
a) «MASTERS» tournament (3rd INTERNATIONAL OPEN CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP OF SERBIA)
The tournament will be played from July 16 to 24 (one round each day).
ALL chess players have the right to participate in the tournament, regardless of title and rating.
The tournament is played in 9 rounds according to the Swiss system and it is rated by FIDE. The rate of
play is 90 minutes per player for 40 moves plus 15 minutes until the end of the game, with an
increment of 30 seconds for each move played, starting from the first. The tournament provides
conditions to acquire norms for all international titles.
In order to protect players with a higher rating, as well as those who aspire to win the norm,
pairing in the first five rounds will be done according to the Swiss accelerated «Baku» system
(HANDBOOK FIDE, C.04.5)
The organizer foresees special conditions for players with of the rating over 2600 E L O
points. The number of these places is limited!
Prizes: the total fund amounts to €23,500 (15 regular and 8 special prizes)
