London Chess Classic 2024

Chess in Schools and Communities is proud to announce the return of the London Chess Classic in December 2024. The 14th edition of our flagship event, sponsored by XTX Markets, will take place at the Emirates Stadium, London, home to Arsenal Football Club, between Friday 29th November and Saturday 7th December 2024.
The XTX Markets London Chess Classic will feature:
a world-class Grandmaster tournament, including several of the UK’s top chess players and a selection of talent from across the globe
the FIDE Open, a 9-round classical chess tournament suitable for players seeking title norms
the LCC Festival, giving opportunities for players of all standards to compete in classical and blitz tournaments
a Schools’ Festival, offering hundreds of children the chance to learn more about the game and experience a world-class chess tournament
a variety of fun events each evening including GM simultaneous displays, variant tournaments, and chess lectures
the ProBiz Cup in which our Grandmasters team up with leaders of business in an alternate-move contest
the LCC Dinner at The Dorchester, raising funds to support the work of Chess in Schools and Communities.
Spectator tickets and entry forms for the events at the London Chess Classic will be available on this site from Monday 14th October 2024.
