IX International Chess Open Easter 2025
From April 16 to 21, 2025
International open chess tournament that will reach its 9th edition in 2025.
This tournament has been held in the province of Alicante (Spain) since its origins and year after year it has adapted its format to the number of players and their increasing level. Last year we reached the magic number of 600 participants.
For this year 2025 we will repeat the configuration of two groups in the tournament, which will facilitate the development of the competition as was proven in 2024.
On the one hand, an open group, in which all players who wish to do so can participate.
On the other hand, a group reserved for players with an Elo rating lower than 1900 points.
The tournament will take place over 6 days of competition with a total of 9 rounds. Therefore, we will have some days in which we will play one round in the morning and one in the afternoon. But don’t worry, we plan to once again have a sufficient number of half-point byes in the competition technical rules so that players can flexibly decide which rounds to compete in.
Once again this year we face the challenge of improving the tournament in all its aspects. The collaboration of the Public Administrations, technical and refereeing team and the players themselves are a fundamental part of achieving the objectives.
We encourage you to participate in this 2025 edition. We will work hard to make this year’s event unforgettable.
