International Tournament for the prizes of the President of Uzbekistan
The Tournament takes place in the city of Tashkent from November 10th (arrival) till November 19th (departure), 2021. On November 13th, November 14th and November 16nd there will be two rounds per day. On November 11th shall take place the Blitz tournament.
The Tournament will be held by Swiss system in two stages – group stage semifinal (online) and final (7 rounds, over the board) and the main stage (10 rounds).
The group stage semifinal will be held online on chess.com platform on 27th October. The group stage final will be held in the International Chess Academy on 28th October. First thirty places (only citizens of Uzbekistan) in the group stage semifinal qualify to the group stage final. First ten places in the group stage final qualify to the main stage. Time control in the group stage: 10 minutes and a 5-second increment per move starting from move one.
In order to participate in the main stage without playing in the group stage players need international rating (standard) 1800 or above on 1st October 2021, for women — international rating (standard) 1600 or above on 1st October 2021. Time control in the main stage: 90 minutes and a 30-second increment per move starting from move one, 9-round Swiss.
The participation in the group stage is available only for citizens of Uzbekistan and it’s free of charge. All participants qualifying to the group stage final have to register for the final and send their login and passport copy
The participation in the main stage is free of charge for:
— Chess players with international titles GM, IM, WGM, WIM
The total prize fund is 120 000 US dollars.
Prize winners shall receive prizes in the national currency according to the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan exchange rate.
Participants, that need visa to enter Uzbekistan, have to register before 20th October 2021, pay the tournament fee in advance and send their passport copy. Otherwise, organizers do not guarantee the visa support.
Citizens from the countries of red zone have to quarantine themselves in a hotel in Uzbekistan for 14 days before they can join the tournament. Organizers can’t provide any visa support if the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan doesn’t allow visa issue.
