The 2023 U.S. Junior Chess Championship will feature the best of the best of America’s chess youths. These young players have fought their way through the fierce scholastic chess scene and currently stand at the top of U.S. chess players under the age of 20. Fans can expect exciting matches filled with innovative play derived from imaginative thinking of young minds aiming to be the best. In addition to the prize fund, the sole first place winner of the Junior Championship will be awarded a $10,000 scholarship to be used at the institution of their choice. The scholarship is generously jointly funded by the Dewain Barber Foundation and US Chess.

With a national title and $20,600 up for grabs, fans can expect thrilling gameplay that showcases player’s chess genius.
